We started construction on Bucharest Golf Club in the spring of 2021 and finished seeding in the fall of 2022. Nine holes has been in play since September of 2022 and everyone is loving it. In fairness why wouldn’t they, it’ll be the first and only 18 hole course in all of Bucharest when it fully opens in the spring of 2023. Built largely through Covid times I was on site pretty much full time. It was a first time build for the Romanian contractors. I had a lot of fun getting stuck in to construction again. It was like days of old when I was shaping while supervising the jobs. Many thanks to David Zalesky who did all of the shaping on this job. There is no doubt in my mind that this course will be one of the best in Europe if the maintenance is kept to the same high standard as the construction.
