In 1999 The Castle Golf Club appointed Jeff Howes Golf Design to implement a major upgrading programme for all 18 greens. This programme included the construction of one entirely new golf hole, the upgrade of 23 fairway bunker complexes, the rebuilding of 14 tee complexes, the realignment of the river which traverses the golf course and the construction of a lake. All work was finished in autumn 2003.
In 2016 the club decided to restore the bunkers back to the style Harry Colt would have used in the original design. This entailed reducing the size and reworking the shape of each bunker. The excellent work was performed by Dar Golf according to our plans.
